My name is Erika Strode, and I am the Executive Director and Childhood Cancer Mission Leader at One Ribbon United. I am married to my best friend, Brandon. We have three amazing, wonderful children and four loving dogs. In May of 2022, our youngest daughter was diagnosed with Wilm’s Tumor. This is a type of children’s kidney cancer. Our hearts were broken, and we felt incredibly defeated. With God’s love, we could find peace in our storm and lay our worries and burdens at His feet. We have seen the faces of parents during chemotherapy visits. We have connected with families that are battling different types of cancers with their children. God was telling us we needed to do something to help these families, and that is how One Ribbon United came together. My husband and I, wanted to start One Ribbon United to help families battling a very difficult storm.

"He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."

My name is Brandon Strode, and I am the IT Director and Financial Director at One Ribbon United.  I am married to my best friend, Erika.  We have three beautiful children and four dogs that bless our home.  In May of 2022, our youngest daughter was diagnosed with Wilm's Tumor, which is a form of kidney cancer commonly found in children.  Our whole world was knocked upside down when we received the diagnosis.  Feeling broken, defeated, and sad, we turned to the one power more extraordinary than anything else, God.  With God's grace and unending love, we have weathered this storm.  We have seen the filled stalls and faces of fellow parents.  We have connected with others facing childhood cancer.  God has led our journey to where we are today, helping to create One Ribbon United.  My wife and I wanted to start One Ribbon United to help families face this challenging storm.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart
   and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
   and he will make your paths straight."
